Curse These Skinny Witches
A Disgruntled Tale from the Mamas of Knotwood Hollow
When two exhausted postpartum witches curse their town’s coveted appetite-suppressing elixir out of existence, they accidentally awaken a forgotten magic that trades perfection for problematic pumpkins, carb cravings, and communal care.
About the Author/Artist ~ Emmaline Evans ~
I’m simply tickled to share that ‘Curse These Skinny Witches’ has been named a 2026 longlist finalist in ProWritingAid’s Novel Beginnings award
Curse These Skinny Witches is the first installment in my intended series “Disgruntled Tales from the Mamas of Knotwood Hollow.”
My goal is to create a collection that will grow with me and my readers as we navigate the difficult—and often unforgiving—realities of modern motherhood. (But in a fun, chaotic, and very witchy way… naturally)
I have struggled deeply with postpartum anxiety, depression, and insomnia. With little support or outside help, I turned to my sarcastic wit and humor to cope…as usual. It is in the dark early morning hours while being bombarded with weight-loss ads that I found the Mama Witches of Knotwood Hollow.
I am also an illustrator by practice and have been drawing ever since I could hold (and much to the dismay of my own mother) eat a crayon. All artwork found on this website is my own and made in Clip Studio Paint or by hand. If interested I am open for commissions and love to help aspiring authors make their worlds a reality.

About
Knotwood
Hollow
“Knotwood Hollow hadn’t had a baby in residence for over a century. Witches lived long lives here and gaurded them carefully. Wellness was more a prescription than a practice, one that left very little time for something as unpredictable as motherhood.”
